Standardization of stainless steel and classification of corrosion resistance
Apr 06, 2017

Definition of stainless steel:

Stainless steel is generally a general term for stainless steel and acid resistant steel. Stainless steel is resistant to atmospheric, steam and water and other weak media corrosion of steel, and acid-resistant steel is resistant to acid, alkali, salt and other chemical corrosion medium corrosion of steel.

Stainless steel pipe corrosion resistance of the grading table:

Classification  Corrosion rate    (mm / year)  Level
Corrosion resistance is extremely strong  <0.001  1
Corrosion resistance is very strong  0.001-.005  2
0.005-0.010  3
Strong corrosion resistance  0.010-0.050  4
0.050-0.10  5
Corrosion resistance is weak  0.10-0.50  6
0.50-1.00  7
Corrosion resistance is weak  1.00-5.00  8
5.00-10.00  9
